How We've Considered the Dosage for You

Looking at the amount in context
How much of an ingredient is in a supplement can be one of the most confusing parts of choosing a product.
Different products can provide different amounts, serving sizes and forms, making it difficult to know what the numbers actually mean.
We've considered these details when choosing the supplements we offer, so you can understand the amount provided without having to work everything out yourself.
What does dosage mean on a supplement?
Dosage generally refers to the amount of a product recommended to be taken over a particular period.
For supplements, the label provides information about the recommended daily amount or serving, along with the quantities of relevant ingredients.
We look at this information as part of our product selection rather than treating the amount as a number in isolation.
Does a higher amount mean a better supplement?
Not necessarily.
A higher amount isn't automatically an indication that a supplement is a better choice.
The amount needs to be considered alongside the ingredient, the form it's provided in, the serving information and the purpose of the product.
That's why we don't simply look for the biggest number on the label.
How do we consider the amount?
When we're assessing a product, we look at the amount provided alongside the other information about the product.
We consider:
the amount of the relevant ingredient
the serving size
the recommended use
the form of the ingredient
how the product has been formulated
This gives us a fuller picture than looking at the amount alone.
Why the serving size matters
The amount shown on a label needs to be understood in relation to the serving.
For example, two products may appear to contain different amounts when the serving sizes are different.
That's why we look at what the stated amount relates to, rather than simply comparing numbers.
Why we've considered it for you
You shouldn't need to become an expert in supplement dosing just to understand what you're buying.
We've considered the amounts and serving information as part of our product research, and we'll make the relevant information clear on the individual product page.
Our job is to make the information easier to understand — not make you work harder to find it.
