How We've Chosen the Supplements We Offer

Making the choice simpler
Choosing a supplement can be confusing. There are different ingredients, forms, amounts and products to consider, and it isn't always obvious what really matters.
At This One Is, we don't want you to have to work all of that out for yourself.
Before a supplement becomes part of our range, we look carefully at the product and the information behind it. We consider the ingredients, formulation, amounts and purpose, then explain those choices as clearly as we can.
Our aim is simple: to make it easier for you to understand what you're choosing and why we've chosen it.
What do we look for when choosing a supplement?
There isn't one thing that makes a supplement suitable for our range. We look at the product as a whole.
The ingredient
We start with the ingredient itself.
We consider what it is, the form in which it is provided and how it fits within the product. Where there are different forms or ways of providing an ingredient, understanding those differences is part of our research.
The formulation
We look at how the product has been put together rather than focusing on a single number or statement on the packaging.
This includes considering the ingredients used, the amounts provided and how the product is intended to be used.
The amount provided
The amount of an ingredient is another part of our consideration.
Rather than simply looking for the highest number, we consider the amount provided in relation to the product and its intended use.
We'll explain more about how we consider amounts and dosage in our separate guide:
How We've Considered the Dosage for You
The information
We believe the information surrounding a supplement should be understandable.
If an ingredient has a technical name or the information could easily be misunderstood, we want to explain it in straightforward language.
That's part of our job.
How do I know which supplement to choose?
There isn't necessarily one supplement that's right for everyone.
What matters is understanding what a product contains, how it has been formulated and why you've chosen it.
That's why we don't want to simply put a product in front of you and tell you it's the answer.
We want you to understand the choice.
What makes a good supplement?
For us, it's not simply about having a long ingredient list or a high amount.
We're interested in products that have a clear purpose, clear information and ingredients we can explain.
We want the products we offer to make sense — not just look impressive on a label.
Why we explain our choices
You shouldn't have to take our word for it.
When we introduce a supplement, we want you to be able to understand what it contains and why we've chosen to offer it.
That's why our product information and supplement guides are designed to work together.
The guide explains our thinking.
The product shows you what we've chosen.
A simpler way to choose
We can't make every decision for you — and we don't think we should.
But we can make the information easier to understand and take some of the complexity out of comparing supplements.
That's what This One Is is here to do.
Supplements with a clear purpose. Information that's easier to understand. Choices made with care.
